Fur on Your Clothes? Here’s a Mindful Fix

Hey there, Laundry Lover!

We know how much you love your furry friends, and we love seeing them too! While Your Laundry Room is a pet-friendly space (leashed and well-behaved, of course), pet hair on clothes can be a bit of a nuisance—especially when it makes its way into the machines.

Here’s how to prep your laundry at YLR for the cleanest, fluff-free results (and to keep our machines happy too):

✨ Pet Hair Removal Tips – Before You Start Your Cycle:

  • Give clothes a good shake before loading: Use the bench space to shake out pet hair before it ends up in the machine. It’s simple, but it works.

  • Use a lint roller or rubber glove at our prep stations> Bring a glove or grab a roller and give garments a once-over before washing. It saves your clothes—and our filters.

  • Tumble dry first (just a few minutes): Use our dryers on low heat or air fluff setting for 5–10 minutes to loosen pet hair before washing. Add a microfibre cloth or dryer sheet to help collect the hair.

  • Keep your loads light: The more space your items have to move, the more hair they’ll release (and the cleaner the result).

💡 Laundry Room Wisdom

Did you know that pet hair left in washers and dryers can clog filters and reduce performance? A little pre-wash care goes a long way—for your clothes, and for everyone else’s too.

At Your Laundry Room, we’re all about thoughtful, community-friendly laundry habits—and that includes keeping pet fluff where it belongs.

Got a clever tip or a pet-friendly hack of your own? Come share it next time you're in—we're all ears (and tails).
